At the heart of The Newbury Cup is a commitment to supporting those who care for and uplift the most vulnerable members of our community. This year, we are proud to partner with the English Future Foundation to shine a light on some of Greater Boston’s often-unsung heroes through the new Boston Caregiver Awards. Five extraordinary individual caregivers will each receive a $5,000 award in recognition of the compassion, dedication and humanity they bring to the lives of others every day.
The Newbury Cup celebrates compassion in action. Each year, Boston’s most inspiring community members and leaders gather at The Newbury Boston for an afternoon tea honoring nonprofits that uplift our community.
The Newbury Cup unites Boston to celebrate and support organizations making a difference in the lives of others.
Now entering its sixth year, The Newbury Cup continues its mission to celebrate compassion in action and support organizations making a lasting impact across Boston. Each year, The Newbury Cup selects a theme centered on a vital community need—ranging from homelessness and mental health to senior care, child advocacy, and women’s health. Three exceptional nonprofits are nominated by members, and through a public vote, one is awarded a generous donation to further their mission.
Hosted in partnership with The Newbury Boston, the annual award ceremony reflects the hotel’s storied tradition of afternoon tea and champions the values of service, civic leadership, and community connection.
As we look ahead to this year’s Newbury Cup, we are also proud to carry forward a very special distinction. In 2025, The Newbury Cup was formally recognized by the Governor’s Office and the City of Boston, including the official proclamation of November 20 as “Newbury Cup Day” in Boston. It was a meaningful milestone for our community and an honor we share with every member, partner and supporter who has helped The Newbury Cup grow and make a difference.
